Box in a Card

Welcome to Dare 2B Artzy‘s 3D Holiday Blog Hop!

Can you believe the holidays are right around the corner once again?!

We at D2BA are so excited!  We decided to have a fun holiday blog hop featuring 3D projects!  We hope to inspire you to get artzy this holiday season!

You should have arrived here from the amazingly creative Tonya’s blog!  If you haven’t and would like to hop along with us, please go back to the Dare 2B Artzy Blog to start at the beginning!

Be sure to follow each blog and leave comments along the way for your chance at winning! We will randomly choose a winner from one of the blogs so the more you comment, the more chances you have to win!!

Winner will receive a stamp set and ink pad!

Blog Hop will end Sunday, November 19th, at 7:00pm Central.

We will then post a winner!!

Here is my project, but please do me a favor and don’t tell my niece!
These seven box in a card projects are filled with treats for my niece’s third grade teaching team.  My niece loves Panera so a Panera gift card will be adhered inside each card, too!

As a retired educator, I know how much small tokens of appreciation can mean!

These box in a card projects are surprisingly easy to make.
For the box, start by cutting a piece of paper or card stock 6″ x 6″ and score every 2″ as shown below.

Next, you cut on two opposing sides along the score lines stopping when you get to the perpendicular score lines.

I trimmed a little off of the corner squares just to make putting the box together a little easier.

Use the adhesive of your choice to assemble the boxes.  I used a liquid glue so I had a little time to make sure the box edges were square.

Cut a 3″ x 3″ piece of paper or card stock to make the lid.  Score 1/2″ on all four sides.

Cut on the score lines as shown below.  Then cut a little wedge out as shown to make lid assembly easier.

I used liquid glue again to give me a little time to make sure the corners were square.
Using a folded A2 card base, cut on the dashed lines as shown in the next photo.

Stamp an ornament from the Tis the Season Stamp Set and cut out with the coordinating die.
Stamp the sentiment from the Snowman Stamp Set and cut out with an oval die.

Cut a 1 and 1/2″ x 5 and 1/2″ strip of paper from one of the gorgeous patterned papers from Dare 2B Artzy’s Holly Days Collection Paper Pack.  Mount this strip onto a piece of card stock cut at 1 and 3/4″ x 5 and 1/2″.  Adhere the strip, ornament, and sentiment to the card front.
Write a message inside and then gently place the box with its lid into the opening (after filling with something fun, of course!)!  If you’re feeling especially grateful, add a gift card to the inside of the card!

I sure hope my niece and the other teachers will enjoy these box in a card cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Your next stop in the hop is the Copic Queen Michelle’s Blog!
We hope you are inspired all along the way!
