My first card for the hop features the newly released Holly Christmas and the Wacky Boxes Die!

After stamping the images, I colored them with the following Copic marker combinations: (R14, R24, R37), (YG03, YG17, G99), and (Y04, Y17).  I also added touches of Wink of Stella to the center of the poinsettia.  The images were cut with the matching Holly Christmas Die.
The Wacky Boxes Die makes such a fun background!

My second card features the new Stinkin’ Happy Stamp Set, the Rectangle Framelits, and the Fun Fold Die.

The D69 Fun Fold Die creates a panel that is partially cut so that it flips open when the card is opened.  This die also creates the score line needed to fold the card on the front panel.  The Fun Fold Die coordinates with the Rectangle Framelits to provide layering opportunities!

This new Fun Fold Die can be used in many ways.  I am going to show you how I used it on this card.

I began by cutting a piece of card stock that was 10 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  I scored that piece at 6″.

I made small pencil marks at 3″ on both the top and bottom of my card.  I used those light markings to align my Fun Fold Die as shown above.  I then ran the card stock with die through my die cutting machine.  Next, I wanted to add some patterned paper using the new Autumn Plaid Paper.  This paper is part of the Fall Harvest Collection Paper Pack.

I cut two pieces of patterned paper at 2 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ and one at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″.  I wanted to cut a portion of the front panel using the Rectangle Framelits to create a border around the previously partially cut opening.  To figure out where to place the die, I slid one of the 2 7/8″ x 5 3/8″ pieces under the partial die cut.  This gave me the opportunity to tape down the rectangle framelit to the patterned paper in the desired position.  I then removed the patterned paper with the die taped to it and ran that piece through the die cutting machine.  This gave me a piece that fit perfectly around the partially cut fun fold!

I then adhered the other patterned paper pieces.  Next, I die cut more of the rectangle framelits from card stock.  After stamping the front and back sentiments with Chocolate Chip Ink, I stamped the heart and the “stink” from the stamp set to the back sentiment.  I folded the score line on the front panel to the back of the card.  Adhering the adorable skunk completed the card!

  1. Both adorable cards, Melody, but I must say the cute skunk is calling out to me. The poinsettia is beautifully colored and the die cut background is perfect with it.
