Happy Friday!
This is a very lucky Friday as all of the stamp companies collaborating in the Stamping Village are showcasing the new Holiday Seals Stamp Set!
I used the Dare 2B Artzy seal on the front of my gatefold card, and I used the Christmoose Stamp Set on the inside!
This gatefold card measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″. The card stock was scored 2 1/8″ from each edge so that the sides of the card would meet in the middle! The two turquoise layers for the front were each cut at 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″. The beautiful Wooly Winter patterned paper was cut at 1 5/8″ x 5″. These layers were then adhered to the card front.
The D2BA seal from the Holiday Seals Stamp Set was stamped with Totally Black Ink and colored with the following Copic marker combinations: (R14, R37, R39), (BG13, BG05, BG09), C00, C1), and B00. Nuvo Glitter Gloss was added to the fur on Santa’s hat and to his glasses.
The Santa seal was die cut using the D2BA Circle Framelits and adhered to larger red and turquoise circles which were also die cut using the Circle Framelits. A frame was created from red card stock using the next two larger Circle Framelits. The Santa layer was adhered to the left front of the card, and the red frame was adhered to the right front of the card. This allowed the card to close as shown in the video. It looks like this when opened.
To create the inside reveal, the turquoise card stock was cut to 3 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. The fourth smallest circle framelit was utilized to cut the circle into the turquoise panel. The panel was then turned over and foam tape was added as shown, keeping the circle clear to allow for movement of the reveal panels.
Two banners were cut with the Large Banners Die Set from Divinity Designs LLC. 1 3/4″ was trimmed from the flat side of each banner. The flat sides were then scored at 1/4″ and Scor-Tape was applied.
After the moose image from the Christmoose Stamp Set was colored and adhered to the card base, the turquoise layer was adhered over the moose with the moose image centered in the middle of the die cut circle. The red banner was then put behind the turquoise panel with the Scor-Tape side up. The edge of the banner was aligned to the score line on the card base. The card was then closed. When it was reopened, the scored portion was adhered to the back side of the card front.
This same procedure was repeated on the opposite side. Your open card will then look like this.
After the reveal banners were adhered, the sentiment was stamped from the Christmoose Set, die cut, and layered with D2BA’s Oval Framelits. The sentiment was adhered to the turquoise panel, and then the opening and closing fun commenced!
I hope you’ll give a gatefold reveal card a try!
