Dare 2B Artzy and My Sweet Petunia Collaboration

Hello, Stampers!
I am so excited to participate in the Dare 2B Artzy Collaboration with My Sweet Petunia, the creator of the MISTI! Owning a MISTI has truly transformed my entire stamping world! You should have arrived here from Ceal Pritchett’s blog.

For this fun collaborative blog hop, I have created my first ever slimline shadow box card!

I began by cutting two pieces of white card stock at 11″ x 4″. I then scored both pieces at 1/2″, 1″, 10″, and 10 1/2″.

After the scoring was completed, I cut an opening in the front piece that was 8″ x 2 7/8″. The opening will be covered up so it doesn’t have to be perfect!

Next, I die cut a piece of white card stock using the largest rectangle from the Wavy Slimline Framelits Dies. I used two dies from D2BA’s Square Framelit Dies to create the window openings. I die cut another piece of white card stock using D2BA’s Wavy Slimline Borders to create the snowbank. After the snowbank was adhered behind the windows, I adhered a piece of acetate behind this entire panel. The acetate provided a place to adhere my images as well as adding stability to the front of the card. This window panel was then adhered to my card front over the opening that had already been cut into the card front.

Next, I die cut a rectangle from aqua card stock using the larger rectangle from the Wavy Slimline Framelit Dies. After die cutting the beautiful Slimline Snowflake Die from white card stock, I adhered it to the aqua panel placing it slightly below the top of the panel.

The aqua panel was then adhered to the part of the card base that does not have the windows cut out. The images were stamped next, and this is where the MISTI transforms one’s stamping abilities!

These fun images from D2BA’s Penguin Fun Stamp Set have a lot of solid portions that I wanted to be dark black. By utilizing the MISTI, I was able to stamp the images repeatedly in the exact same place until I was satisfied with the solid areas! Thank you, MISTI!

The images were colored with the following Copic Marker combinations: (YG11, G14, G17), (E35, E37), (C00, C1, C3), (BG13, BG05, BG09), (Y17, YR04, YR09), and (R14, R24, R29). The images were then die cut with the Penguin Die and adhered to the card front. Nuvo Glitter Drops – White Blizzard were added to the trees and the snowball to add sparkle and shine!

The sentiment from the Just Chillin Stamp Set was stamped with D2BA’s Paradise Ink and die cut using a banner die from the Wavy Slimline Framelit Dies. I cut and adhered two more banners from aqua card stock to add a little interest. The banners were then adhered to the card front.

I always stamp my sentiments on the MISTI grid paper or the MISTI Mouse Pad before I do my final stamping to make sure the sentiments are straight. I can also then stamp the sentiments multiple times until I achieve the results I am wanting! The MISTI makes mass producing sentiments and images so much faster!

The outside scored portions of my card front and back were adhered together using Scor-Tape. As you can see from the photo below, adhering the pieces this way allows the card to stand up, and it also allows the sides to be pushed inward so that the card will fit into a Size 10 envelope!

I hope you will join in this fun blog hop! Be sure and comment on the blog posts. A winner will be randomly drawn from the comments at the end of the hop for a $20 gift card from Dare 2B Artzy! There will also be a 10% discount offered on the D2BA website from October 29, 2020, to November 8, 2020. Just be sure and use the code FALL10 when you order!

My Sweet Petunia will be randomly choosing a winner from the comments for a $20 gift card! They are also offering a 10% discount on orders during the hop with the code FALL10.
The next stop on the D2BA/My Sweet Petunia collaborative hop is with Karen!
